Tigers Announce Select Physical Therapy for Athletic Training Services

Marshalltown, IA – Marshalltown Community College Athletic Director, Dr. Kathleen Brown, has announced an agreement with Select Physical Therapy for athletic training services through 2021. Select Physical Therapy has agreed to provide two certified athletic trainers, coverage for all home games and practices as well as on site physical therapy for athletes. Select Physical Therapy also partners with Unity Point Medical Center right here in Marshalltown, making it much more convenient for athletes with medical issues.

"We are excited to enter into a new partnership with Select Physical Therapy who is partnered with Unity Point Health," stated Brown. "Being able to provide local medical support for the student-athletes along with on campus physical therapy is a huge benefit to the health and overall wellness of each individual. The partnership also allows two Athletic Trainers to help serve our teams, which is something that we have not had in the past. We are confident with the additional support, our student-athletes will have the optimal opportunity for success both on and off of the field of competition."

Along with the administration, the coaching staff has showed its support of the move to Select Physical Therapy, "I think having Select Physical Therapy on campus will be a positive experience for all our student athletes" stated Head Volleyball Coach Justin Hoskins. "Having a trainer devoted to each in-season sport will allow our student-athletes not only great coverage during activities but consistent monitoring of injuries, ailments, and progress. I'm looking forward to working with our two trainers and helping them make our department even better."

Select Physical Therapy started its coverage of MCC sports on August 1, the official NJCAA start date for fall sports.
