23 student-athletes named to Academic All-Region teams

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has announced its Academic All-Region teams for the fall semester, and Marshalltown Community College was well represented. 23 athletes, including 15 on the first-team, across four sports earned recognition from the region.

Academic All-Region requirements consist of maintaining a grade point average of 3.5 or better for first-team honors and a grade point average between 3.0 and 3.49 for second-team honors.

The volleyball team placed nine players on the team, including four on the first team. The men’s soccer team had seven selections with six named to the first-team. The women’s basketball placed four players on the first-team and one on the second-team while the men’s basketball team had one player represent both the first and second-teams.

Men’s Basketball: Marquis Cunningham
