23 student-athletes named to Academic All-Region teams

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has announced its Academic All-Region teams for the spring semester, and Marshalltown Community College was well represented. 23 student-athletes, including nine on the first team, across five sports earned recognition from the region for their success in the classroom.

Academic All-Region requirements consist of maintaining a grade point average of 3.5 or better for first team honors and a grade point average between 3.0 and 3.49 for second team honors.

The baseball team placed 11 players on the team, including five on the first team. The volleyball team had six selections with one named to the first team. The women’s basketball team had one player represent the first team and two on the second team while the men’s basketball team placed one player on both the first team and the second team.
