35 student-athletes honored for academic success

Marshalltown Community College was well represented on the NJCAA Region XI All-Academic teams as 35 student-athletes from the winter and spring seasons were recognized. 11 Tigers were named to the first-team while 24 were named to the second-team. 

The MCC baseball team had 16 student-athletes recognized- five first-team members and 11 second-team members. The softball team placed four players on the first-team and eight on the second-team. The women's basketball team put more than half of its roster on the all-academic squad with two first-team honorees and four second-team selections. The men's basketball team placed one player on the second-team.

To be selected to the All-Academic First-Team, student-athletes must achieve a grade point average of 3.50 or better. Student-athletes achieving a grade point average of 3.00-3.49 were placed on the second-team.
