A multitude of former Marshalltown Community College baseball players are currently showcasing their skills at four-year NCAA Division I institutions across the country.

Former two-time All-Region XI selection Jordan McCoy, a senior at Houston Baptist University, has been a mainstay in the outfield for the Huskies over the last two seasons. McCoy has started all 76 games of his career at Houston Baptist, including the team's first 17 contests this year. The senior batted .330 in his first year during the 2013 campaign and has produced a .303 clip so far this year.

McCoy posted a .357 career batting average at MCC from 2011-2012. A native of Exline, IA, McCoy collected 121 hits, 13 home runs, and 90 RBI during his stint as a Tiger.

Jake Whaley has found a home in the Kansas State University bullpen where the junior has baffled hitters during his six appearances on the mound. Whaley, a 6-4 right handed pitcher, has limited opponents to a .130 batting average while registering a 1.35 earned run average in 6.2 innings of relief work. Against 31 total batters, the junior has allowed just eight base runners total.

Whaley racked up six wins over his two seasons at MCC, including a seven-inning no-hitter against conference foe Muscatine Community College.

A trio of formers Tigers from the 2013 graduating class ventured to Alabama A&M University together. Justen Folger, Benjamin Ryder, and Andrew Utterback have helped the Bulldogs to eight wins in the early part of the season.

Ryder has made four starts on the mound and has appeared in nine games overall for the Bulldogs. The 6-7 righty ranks second on the team with 29.1 innings pitched and has struck out 19 batters.

Former MCC slugger Utterback has carried his effective swing with him to Alabama as the outfielder ranks second on the team with a .368 batting average through 22 games. Utterback leads the Bulldogs with a .559 slugging percentage. Utterback has yet to record an error in 45 chances in the field.

Folger has started 16 games at second base for the Bulldogs and has collected 15 hits while scoring eight times and driving in seven more.

All three Bulldogs finished up their MCC career in 2013 and were named to the Academic All-Region squad.
