Fresh off of it's first-ever NJCAA District Tournament appearance in 2014, the Marshalltown Community College baseball team has released it's 2015 schedule. The Tigers open up their 56-game agenda on Feb. 20.
MCC will make its annual trek to a warmer climate to open the season with a trip to Tennessee and North Carolina for a 10-game haul.. The Tigers will take on Roane State Community College (TN) on Feb. 20 and 21 for four games, Surry Community College (NC) for a doubleheader, and round out the week with a four-game set against Guilford Technical Community College (NC).
The Tigers will play a pair of games on the road against both Crowder College, entering the season at No. 16 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Preseason Poll, and Ellsworth Community College in the opening weeks of March before making its scheduled home-opener against Ellsworth on March 15 at Shawn Williams Field.
The 2015 Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) slate will open at Shawn Williams for the Tigers as Muscatine travels to MCC for four games on March 28 and 29. The Tigers will host conference foe Indian Hills Community College for four games on April 4 and 5 before travelling to defending NJCAA National Champions Iowa Western Community College, ranked No. 1 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Preseason Poll, on April 11 and 12.
The final ICCAC weekend at home for MCC will be against the Reivers on April 25 and 26. MCC hosts Southwestern Community College for a single nonconference matchup on April 29 for the regular season home finale. The Tigers conclude the regular season on the road at Indian Hills for four games on May 2 and 3.
The Region XI Tournament will be held at Muscatine from May 8-11.
