Baseball signs Erik Bautista of the Dominican Republic

The Marshalltown Community College baseball team has signed Erik Bautista to a National Letter of Intent. Bautista is from Bajos De Hanna, Dominican Republic where he played at Real Baseball Academy in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Bautista, a 6'4" right-handed pitcher and middle infielder, made his decision to join the Tigers' program following the commitment of Ronny Penalo Ceballos who signed his National Letter of Intent on April 2. Bautista and Penalo Ceballos are close friends and teammates at Real Baseball Academy under head coach Johan Ramirez.

"Erik is a versatile athlete," said MCC assistant coach Tanner McLaughlin. "He's got a live arm on the mound, but also provides talent in the middle infield as well. Our program feels that between Erik and Ronny, we've added two quality baseball players who can contribute right away. To have them both come to MCC together will make for a smooth transition."

Bautista is the sixth player to sign a National Letter of Intent for the Tigers for the 2015-16 season.
