The Tigers had eight of their players recognized as members of the Region XI All-Region Teams. Two Tigers were named First-Team, five were named Second-Team, and one Tiger got the nod as an Honorable Mention.
The MCC baseball team made a valiant run from the loser's bracket of the Region XI Baseball Tournament to reach the final series, but ultimately fell short as Iowa Western was crowned Tournament Champions
A pair of Tiger’s took home the coveted Player/Pitcher of the Week honors for the final week of the season ending on May 7th. Freshman Luis Menendez and sophomore David Davila led the Tigers to a 4-0 sweep of Southwestern to end the regular season ICCAC slate.
Freshman pitcher, Jake Medcalf, has been named Iowa Community College Athletic Conference’s Division I pitcher of the week for his performance during the week of April 15th through the 21st. The right-hander threw 6.2 innings in two different appearances. Against Division II opponent NIACC, Medcalf pitched four important, scoreless innings, which included four strikeouts. Against conference opponent Indian Hills, Medcalf threw 2.2 scoreless innings to seal a win for the Tigers.
The Marshalltown Community College Baseball program will host its first annual Leadoff Coaches Clinic and Fundraising Dinner on the MCC campus on Saturday, January 26.
The Marshalltown Community College Baseball Program and Head Coach Anthony Everman has announced the hiring of Preston Bailey as an Assistant Coach for Tigers. This is Bailey’s first coaching appointment after a successful playing career at both the collegiate and professional level. Bailey’s focus will be assisting the pitchers on the mound, as well as recruiting.
