Southeastern ends Tiger's season

The Southeastern Community College Men's Basketball Team (22-9, 3-5) brought and end to the MCC Tiger's (22-9, 3-5) season, scoring an, 86-80 win in the first round of Region XI tournament play.

The Tigers had four players in double figures and out rebounded the Black Hawks 37-31, but were unable to overcome 14 turnovers on the evening. Southeaster committed only 7 turnovers. The Tigers were led by freshman Troidell Carter (Lilburn, GA) with 17 points, followed by 14 from freshman Jamal Gatali (Toronto, Canada).  

Carter also led the Tigers on the boards, collecting 7 rebounds. MCC's leading scorer, sophomore Chris Caird (England) was held to just 7 points and 4 rebounds.  

Southeastern moves on to face Iowa Western Community College on March 2, in Council Bluffs. The Reivers scored a 102-77 win over Northeast Community College.
