Carter closes out regular season as ICCAC Player of the Week

Sophomore Troidell Carter (Lilburn, GA/Meadowcreek) has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week after posting career-high numbers last week. The player of the week honor is the second of the year for Carter.

Carter shot a stifling 71.8 percent (23-32) from the floor in two games last week as the Tigers went 1-1. The sophomore averaged 30.5 points and 14.0 rebounds per contest.

Against Grand View JV on Tuesday night, Carter went off for career-highs of 28 points and 16 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the year. Carter hit a career-best 12 field goals in the 89-65 victory, the Tigers fourth straight win.

MCC's winning streak came to an end against No. 1 Indian Hills Community College on Saturday as the Tigers fell 104-93, but Carter eclipsed his career-high for the second-straight game with a personal-best 33 points. Carter also grabbed 12 rebounds for his eighth double-digit rebounding game of the year. The sophomore also knocked down a career-high 11 free throws in 12 attempts.

Over his last six games, including Monday night's Region XI Tournament victory over Northeast Community College, Carter is averaging 25.5 points per game on 65.6 percent shooting from the floor while grabbing 10.2 rebounds per game.

Carter and the fourth-seeded Tigers travel to top-seeded Indian Hills for the semi-final round of the Region XI Tournament at 7:00 PM on Wednesday night.
