Troidell Carter (Lilburn, GA/Meadowcreek), a two-year member of the Marshalltown Community College men's basketball team, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play Division I basketball at Florida International University next year. Carter will play for the Panthers under head coach Anthony Evans.

Carter closed out a successful career at MCC with a Second-Team All-Region XI selection as a sophomore after earning Honorable Mention honors as a freshman. A two-time Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Player of the Week, Carter averaged 15.4 points and 6.9 rebounds per game while tallying eight double-doubles in 2014.

On his decision to choose the Panthers over Texas State and the University of Albany, Carter cited the atmosphere of the campus. "The environment proved to be a great fit for me," said Carter. "Plus, it gets me a little closer to home," the Georgia native claimed.

"MCC allowed me to mature and work on my game," Carter continued, "which led me to this great opportunity at Florida International University. It's a dream come true."

Over the course of his career, Carter recorded 800 career points and 380 total rebounds for averages of 13.3 points and 6.3 rebounds.

The Panthers are members of Conference USA and finished the 2013-14 season with a 15-16 mark.
