Boone, IA—The Marshalltown Community College men's basketball team suffered an 81-74 loss at the hands of Des Moines Area Community College on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers fall to 6-3 on the season.
Mike Rodriguez (Boston, MA/Redemption Christian Academy) led all MCC scorers with 21 points, giving him 12 straight games of at least 20 points dating back to the 2013-14 season. Terence Shelby Jr. added 17 points to go along with 10 from Merdic Green (Levittown, PA/ Harry S. Truman).
The 74 points scored are the lowest for the Tigers this season.
MCC will host Ellsworth Community College on Nov. 25 as part of a doubleheader with the women's team. Tuesday's games will benefit Marshalltown High School with half of all ticket sales going directly towards the Bobcats' Roundhouse renovation.
