The Marshalltown Community College Men's Basketball team opens up the 2015-16 season this weekend with the Emerson Classic at the Student Activity Center. The four-team classic begins Friday night at 5:00 PM.
Along with the Tigers, participating teams include Highland Community College (IL), Pure Prep Academy, and Southwestern Community College.
The weekend tips-off with Highland and Southwestern squaring off at 5:00 PM on Friday night. MCC will take on Pure Prep at 7:00 PM. Saturday will pair Southwestern and Pure Prep at 5:00 PM followed by the Tigers and Highland at 7:00 PM.
MCC went 2-0 in last year's Emerson Classic where the Tigers defeated Quakerdale Prep Academy 83-71 before dropping Highland 80-78. Highland finished the classic 0-2 in 2014.
Weekend ticket passes are available for $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for ages 13-18. Single day tickets are $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for ages 13-18. MCC students, staff, faculty, along with all children 12 and under, receive free admission.
