Oscar Kao Earns ICCAC Athlete of the Week

The MCC athletic department would like to congratulate Oscar Kao for being named ICCAC DI Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week. From December 4 to December 10, Kao took control of the Tiger offense scoring 90 points while going 30-56 from the field. Kao was also able to secure 12 rebounds and record six steals for the Tigers over the week. Kao's ability to handle the ball and distribute the ball effectively has been a tremendous help to the Tigers so far this season and he continued to show that ability last week recording 13 assists.

"Oscar has been great so far this season," stated Head Coach Brynjar Brynjarsson. "He has rare athletic ability and a mind for the game so his success isn't a surprise to those that know him. We hope he can develop as the season goes on and we think he has ability to be one of the best players in this league."

So far this season Kao averages 15.4 points per game while shooting 48% from the field and 44% from the arc. Kao is currently tied for second in three-point percentage in the conference behind only Tyriek Railey of Iowa Western Community College. Kao and the rest of the men's basketball team will be back in action on Wednesday (12/13) when they host the Lakers of Iowa Lakes Community College in the Student Activity Center at 7:30.
