Men Fall to Southeastern

The MCC men's basketball team hosted their first ICCAC game in the Student Activity Center Wednesday night against the Blackhawks of Southeastern Community College. The Blackhawks have put together a solid season, starting 16-4. Both the Tigers and Blackhawks suffered ICCAC losses last weekend with the Tigers dropping a game to Iowa Western and the Blackhawks falling to #2 Indian Hills Community College. Wednesday's matchup was a low scoring affair that saw the Blackhawks come out on top 71-66.

Southeastern played tight defense all game long limiting the Tigers offensively. Standout sophomore Mohamed Thiam recorded a double double on the night scoring 21 points while grabbing 12 rebounds. Goran Vidovic had an efficient night going 3-3 from the field and 2-3 from the free throw line for 11 points. Eric Ting would be perfect on the night going 3-3 from the field, 2-2 from the three-point arc, and 2-2 from the free throw line for 10 points. Southeastern's Patrick Jackson and DeAndre Barton led the way for the Blackhawks, scoring 23 and 18 points respectively.

The Tigers will be back in action Saturday, January 20 when they travel to Ottumwa to take on #2 Indian Hills Community College. The Warriors currently sit at 20-0 on the season after defeating Southeastern 102-79 last Saturday. The game will be streamed live on the Indian Hills Athletics website with links posted on MCC Athletics social media platforms.
