Mohamed Thiam Named MCC's Male Athlete of the Month

The Marshalltown Community College athletic department is pleased to announce that Mohamed Thiam has been named MCC's Male Athlete of the Month for his play in February. Honored by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference as Division I Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week twice in February, the sophomore standout showed why he is the #6 junior college prospect in the country. Thiam finished February with 160 points, averaging 22.8 points per game. Thiam's rare athletic ability and his shooting efficiency is what college scouts find exciting about the 6'9 forward as he finished February shooting 55% from the field.

With the basketball season coming to an end, Thiam shifts his focus on finding the right fit for next year. With multiple NCAA Division I offers, he will take his time and pick a school that will allow him to play at the highest level and receive his degree. Thiam ends his career as a Tiger with 1005 total points, shooting 46.8% from the field while grabbing 9.8 rebounds a game.
