Mohamed Thiam Named 1st Team All-Region

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) announced the All-Region selections for Division I basketball Tuesday afternoon. Marshalltown Community College's Mohamed Thiam was named 1st Team All-Region. Thiam put together a dominant season for the Tigers averaging just under twenty points a game. His 592 total points ranks third in the ICCAC and 16th in the NJCAA this season. During his sophomore campaign, Thiam was named ICCAC Athlete of the week four times.

Thiam finished the season shooting 47% from the field and 33% from the three-point arc. Defensively, Thiam had been a force, grabbing 288 rebounds, recording 23 steals and 10 blocks. The 6'9 forward was always a great scorer but he also impressed with his ball handling skills, recording 55 assists in his sophomore season. Thiam is currently the #6 junior college prospect in the country by Jucorecruiting.com and has been highly recruited all year long receiving multiple Division I offers. Thiam is taking his time deciding where he will continue his playing career.
