Mohamed Thiam Named 3rd Team All-American

The National Junior College Athletic Association announced the Men's Basketball All-American list on Tuesday morning. Among those named All-Americans was Marshalltown Community College's Mohamed Thiam who earned third team All-American recognition. Thiam, a 6'9 forward, dominated the court this last season, averaging 19.7 points per game and 9.6 rebounds per game. The Dakar, Senegal native has consistently put up great numbers for the Tigers, scoring 1005 points in his career while shooting 46.8% from the field.

"This is a well deserved honor for a great player who is an even better person," stated Head Coach Brynjar Brynjarsson. "He has done great things for this team and our program and we know he will excel at the next level as well."

Thiam has been highly recruited by NCAA Division I schools this last year but he has yet to decide on where he will take his talents. He is currently the #6 Junior College prospect in the county by jucorecruiting.com and #1 in his position. He hoped to have a school selected by the end of April but wants to take his time and make sure he is the right fit for the team and the school.
