The National Junior College Athletic Association has named sophomore guard Kelton Edwards to its Honorable Mention Team. The Houston, TX native scored 571 points this season while shooting 45.8% from the field, 36.6% from the arch and 81% from the line. Edwards led the conference in points and points per game, as well as field goals (227 for 496).
Kelton Edwards headlined a group of three sophomores on the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference All-Region teams. Edwards earned 1st team All ICCAC while Goran Vidovic and Eduardo Lane earned honorable mention nods.

Freeport, IL- The Marshalltown Community College Men’s Basketball team fell just short in their quest for a championship at the William H Bear Classic hosted by Highland Community College. The weekend would end in one victory and two defeats, which leaves them slightly above .500 at 9-8 heading into the holiday break.
An exciting game featuring runs by both teams came down to an inbound play with just .9 seconds remaining that saw the Tigers come away with a 77-75 victory.
The Tigers traveled to Boone, IA to take on the DMACC Bears. After a sluggish first half, the Tigers proved too much for the Bears as they controlled the second half and handed the Bears an 87-71 loss.
Depth proved to be the difference in a matchup between the Tigers and Eagles as five Eagles scored in double digits to help lead Kirkwood to an 84-71 victory.
Iowa Falls, IA- The Marshalltown Community College Basketball team fell to NIACC but defeated Ellsworth in the inaugural Dale Howard Classic played over the weekend. The split moves them to 3-2 on the season.
A closely contested game between the Tigers and Tritons saw the MCC comeback attempt fall just short as they dropped their first game of the year, 92-96.
Ottumwa, IA: The MCC Tiger Men’s Basketball team opened their season strong at the Financial Partners Classic hosted by Indian Hills Community College. The Tigers faced Independence Community College on Friday and Butler Community College on Saturday, winning both games by double figures.
The Marshalltown Community College men’s basketball team has been preparing for the upcoming season, holding workouts and practices throughout the fall.
