Four former members of the Marshalltown Community College men's soccer team helped the Southern Wesleyan men's soccer team claim the 2013 National Christian College Athletic Association Division I Championship. The Warriors defeated Lee University 1-0 for the title on Dec. 7.

Bruno Liozzi and Joao Oliveira played for the Tigers from 2011-2012 while Claudio Sanches played two seasons from 2009-2010 and Raul Canelos spent one season at MCC in 2010. Liozzi was named to the All-Tournament team while Oliveira scored the lone goal in the championship game.

Liozzi ranked second on the team in 2013 with seven goals and 23 total points while leading the Warriors with nine assists, making 21 starts on the year. Liozzi was named to the NCCAA South Region First-Team.

As a defender, Sanches started 22 of the team's 24 games. Oliveira ranked third on the team with six goals and 14 total points while playing in all 24 games. Canelos made 13 starts on the year, scoring three goals and adding one assist for seven points.

Oliveira and Liozzi combined to score 76 total points over their two year career at MCC. Liozzi totaled 10 goals and 22 assists while Oliveira netted 12 goals and 10 assists.

The Warriors finished the 2013 season with a 16-6-2 mark.
