2015 MCC Men's Soccer Schedule

The Marshalltown Community College men's soccer team has released its 2015 schedule. The Tigers will host nine home games on the MCC campus.

Coming off of their fourth consecutive year with at least 12 wins, the Tigers posted a 13-7 record in 2014, including an 8-4 mark in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC). MCC fell short in the Region XI tournament, dropping a 3-1 contest to Iowa Lakes Community College.

The Tigers open up 2015 at home against the Iowa State University Club team on August 22 at 2:00 PM. MCC hits the road for its next three dates, including a weekend road trip to Chicago, IL for the program's first-ever matchup at Kennedy-King College at 2:00 PM on August 28. The Statesmen are fresh off of a 13-3-2 season, the program's most successful season. MCC travels to Carl Sandburg College two days later. MCC dropped the Chargers 6-1 in 2014.

MCC opens up its conference slate against the newest member to the league, Northeast Community College. The Tigers travel to Norfolk, NE on Sept. 5 for a 2:00 PM game. The remainder of the schedule alternates home and away games as MCC welcomes Indian Hills Community College for the team's first conference home game on Sept. 9 at 4:00 PM.

Other notable dates include conference-foe Iowa Western Community College on the road on Sept. 19 at 2:00 PM and at home on Oct. 17 at 2:00 PM. The Reivers reached the NJCAA semifinal round in 2014. Their last loss to an ICCAC opponent came against MCC in the 2012 Region XI Championship.

MCC's first contest against Iowa Lakes, the team that ended the Tigers' season in 2014, will be at home on Sept. 23 at 4:00 PM. The regular season finale will be at home against North Iowa Area Community College on Oct. 24 at 2:00 PM.

The 2015 Region XI Tournament features a slight change to the format due to the addition of Northeast, giving the tournament nine teams. Despite not playing regular season matchups against the Region XI teams, Dakota County Technical College of Region XIII plays in the tournament. An opening round game on Monday, Oct. 26 will pair the No. 8 and No. 9 seed. The quarterfinal round will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 28 with the higher seed hosting each game. The semifinal round and championship game will be held once again at the Cownie Sports Complex in Des Moines, IA on Saturday, Oct. 31 and Sunday, Nov. 1.
