Alberto Morales named ICCAC Offensive Player of the Week

Freshman Alberto Morales (Granada, Spain/Santa Fe DH) of the No. 5 Marshalltown Community College Men's Soccer team has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. This is the second time this season Morales has earned the honor.

Morales helped lead the Tigers to a pair of wins last week, including a 16-0 rout of Scott Community College at home on Friday. During the Tigers' win over the Eagles, Morales netted a team-high and personal-best four goals and also added an assist as MCC scored the second-most goals in a single game in school history.

The freshman also added an assist in a 4-1 win over Indian Hills Community College on Wednesday afternoon.

Morales has been a key-figure in the team's success throughout the year as MCC is just one of three remaining unbeaten teams in the nation at 13-0-1. The Tigers entered this week's NJCAA Division I poll at No. 5, moving up two spots from last week's rankings.

Morales ranks second in the ICCAC in goals (10) and points (23).

MCC heads off to Iowa Central Community College Wednesday afternoon for a 4:00 PM ICCAC matchup with the fourth-place Tritons.
