The Marshalltown Community College Men's Soccer team came in at No. 6 in this week's NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer poll, one spot down from last week's ranking. The Tigers are ranked No. 5 in the NSCAA Junior College Division I Men's Soccer poll.

The Tigers (14-0-2/10-0-2) remained unbeaten after a win and a tie last week. MCC went on the road and defeated Iowa Central Community College 2-0 on Wednesday. The Tritons are currently in fourth place in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC). On Saturday, the Tigers tied with No. 12 Iowa Western Community College at home 0-0 for the second time this season.

The top two teams remained the same in the NJCAA poll as Louisburg College held on to the top spot followed by Monroe College. Yavapai College moved up three spots to No. 3 while Arizona Western College and Mercer County Community College rounded out the top five.

MCC sits atop the ICCAC, one half game ahead of Iowa Western (11-1-4/9-0-3).

Freshman Rafael Pereira (Lisbon, Portugal/Escola Secundaria Vergilio Ferreira) finished the week as the top goalie in the nation with a 0.38 goals against average. Pereira's eight shutouts are also tied for first in the nation.

Freshman Alberto Morales (Granada, Spain/Santa Fe DH) is tied atop the ICCAC with 11 goals while his 26 total points rank second.

MCC has clinched a home playoff game in the Region XI Tournament. The Tigers will host a team to be determined, depending on seeding in the nine-team tournament, at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, Oct. 28.
