Kino Ryosuke named ICCAC Player of the Week

Freshman Kino Ryosuke (Hyogo, Japan/Takigawadaini) of the No. 17 Marshalltown Community College Men's Soccer team has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Player of the Week after leading the Tigers in scoring last week.

The Tigers posted a 1-1 record last week as Ryosuke had a hand in more than half of the team's nine goals. MCC defeated Carl Sandburg College 8-0 on Wednesday and fell to Indian Hills Community College 1-0 on Saturday.

Ryosuke tallied the team's first three goals of the match vs. Carl Sandburg and assisted on the fourth as MCC rolled to the shutout. In the defeat against the Warriors, Ryosuke kept MCC in the game with a late second half goal.

After three assists against Iowa Lakes Community College on Tuesday, Ryosuke now ranks second in the nation with 17 total points. His six goals are also tied for second in the NJCAA while his five assists are tied for fifth. Ryosuke ranks in the top two in the ICCAC in all three categories.

The Tigers return to action on Sept. 10 at home against Northeast Community College. Kickoff is set for 2:00 PM.
