NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Poll

The Marshalltown Community College Men's Soccer team moved up in the national rankings this week, jumping up to No. 13 in the NJCAA Division I poll. The Tigers climbed four spots from No. 17 last week.

MCC used a pair of conference shutouts last week to move up, including a convincing 3-0 win over No. 15 Iowa Lakes Community College on Tuesday. The Tigers dropped Northeast Community College 8-0 on Saturday to improve to 5-1-0 overall and 4-1-0 in Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) play.

The Tigers were once again led by freshman Kino Ryosuke (Hyogo, Japan/Takigawadaini) who tallied eight points, including a pair of goals against Northeast. Sophomore Rafael Pereira (Lisbon, Portugal/Escola Secundaria Vergilio Ferreira) posted back-to-back shutouts, his 12th and 13th clean sheets of his career at MCC.

MCC has now appeared in 15 consecutive polls dating back to the first week of the 2015 season.

Also appearing in the poll from the ICCAC is Iowa Western Community College who dropped from No. 2 to No. 3 in the rankings after winning a pair of games last week. Iowa Lakes also received votes.

Next up for the Tigers is a trip to Iowa Central Community College at 4:00 PM on Wednesday. The Tritons (3-3-0/2-3-0) fell out of the rankings after dropping a pair of games last week.
