Sophomore goalkeeper Rafael Pereira of the No. 13 Marshalltown Community College Men's Soccer team has been named the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Goalie of the Week. Pereira also earned the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Goalie of the Week on Tuesday.
PEREIRA, RYOSUKE SWEEP WEEKLY ICCAC AWARDS
Pereira, who was a NJCAA Division I First-Team All-American in 2015, was tabbed the national goalie of the week after posting a pair of shutouts last week. The sophomore shut down No. 15 Iowa Lakes Community College in a 3-0 win on Wednesday and posted his 13th career shutout in an 8-0 win over Northeast Community College at home on Saturday.
Pereira earned his fifth-career ICCAC Goalie of the Week honor on Tuesday afternoon. The national weekly award is the first in Pereira's career.
The Tigers head to Iowa Central Community College on Wednesday for a 4:00 PM ICCAC matchup.
