Former Marshalltown Community College men's soccer players have found success at the next level of their playing careers throughout the history of the program, and the 2016 season proved to be no different for Tiger alumni.

12 different Tigers appeared on a four-year roster in 2016, winning multiple awards and honors.

Daniel Barrera (2014-15) – Ohio Valley University (WV): A former MCC captain, Barrera appeared in 11 games in his first season for the Fighting Scots, making eight starts for a team that went 11-7-1 on the year. Barrera was named to the All-Region XI Second-Team as a defender for the Tigers in 2015.

Bill Baye (2012-13) – William Penn University (IA): Baye started 12 games for the Statesmen in his first year of action since finishing his MCC career. The former Tiger appeared in 13 total games with an assist. Baye was a All-Region XI First-Team pick as a sophomore in 2013 at MCC.

Florian Caraballo (2015) – Concordia University (NE): Caraballo earned First-Team Great Plains Athletic Conference honors after making 19 assists as a defender, recording two assists. Caraballo and the Bulldogs reached the GPAC championship game and finished the season with an 11-6-2 record. Caraballo earned the Superior Academic Achievement Award and All-Region XI Second-Team honors at MCC in 2015.

Juan Carlos Carrillo (2013-14) – Queens University (NC): A former two-time NJCAA All-American at MCC, Carrillo missed the 2016 season with an injury. Carrillo is one of three Tigers to play at Queens University since 2015.

Ralph Duopu-Turner (2012-13) – William Penn University (IA): After missing the 2015 season for the Statesmen, Duopu-Turner started 16 of the 19 games he appeared in with an assist in 2016. Duopu-Turner, who began his tenure at William Penn in the 2014 season, finished his career with 31 starts with 36 total appearances.

Jordan Gilmore (2013-14) – Trevecca Nazarene University (TN): Gilmore, a former captain for the Tigers, concluded his collegiate career for the Trojans appearing in 12 games with three assists as a senior. Gilmore appeared in 26 total games with five points in his career at Trevecca Nazarene.

Adrian Gomez (2015) – University of Great Falls (MT): Gomez helped guide the Argos to the Cascade College Conference championship game with an 11-8 record. The former All-Region XI First-Team pick at MCC, Gomez earned All-CCC Second-Team honors for Great Falls in 2016.

David Gomez (2014-15) -- Grand View University (IA): A two-time all-league pick for the Tigers, Gomez and the Vikings are currently preparing for their NAIA quarterfinal matchup at the national tournament. Gomez has appeared in nine games with two goals on the season. The Vikings take on the University of Northwestern Ohio on Nov. 30.

Isaac Moore (2014-15) – Ohio Valley University (WV): Another Tiger that moved on to the Fighting Scots, Moore appeared in 15 of the team's 19 games this season. In his first season, Moore started two games.

Alberto Morales (2015) – Queens University (NC): The Tigers continued their trend of sending top-tier players to a prominent NCAA Division II school in Queens. Morales, the leading scorer for MCC in 2015, finished third on the Royals in 2016 with three goals and three assists for nine points. Morales was the third player in the last three seasons to move on to Queens following their stint at MCC. Morales led the Tigers in goals and points in 2015 and earned All-Region XI First-Team honors.

Agustin Ortiz (2014-15) – Grand View University (IA): Another two-time All-Region XI selection at MCC, Ortiz joins David Gomez on the Vikings' roster who is vying for a NAIA national championship. Ortiz has appeared in eight games at Grand View, including the team's 3-0 victory over Keiser University in the NAIA second round.

Celes Vilar (2013-14) -- Queens University (NC): Vilar wrapped up his career at NCAA Division II Queens appearing in 13 games with seven starts in 2016. Vilar appeared in 28 total games during his time at Queens. Vilar was named a captain at MCC and earned NJCAA All-East Region honors.

Jeremiah Ziaty (2015) – Indiana University – Purdue University Fort Wayne (IN): Ziaty, who appeared in 19 games in his lone season at MCC in 2015, made five appearances for the NCAA Division I Mastodons who went 9-9 in 2016.
