Kino Ryosuke Honored as September MCC Male Athlete of the Month

Marshalltown Community College Athletic Director, Dr. Kathleen Brown, would like to announce Kino Ryosuke as the September MCC Male Athlete of the Month.

"Kino has had an outstanding start to the season," Stated Dr. Brown, "We knew that coming into this season that he would be on opponents' radars, however he has stepped up his game to really lead our team this season. It is my hope that he continues his success to cap off a great career in an MCC uniform."

Over the last month, Ryosuke has scored a team leading seventeen goals and four assists for the men's soccer team. Ryosuke was selected by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference as the men's soccer Athlete of the Week twice in September.  He also received the men's soccer Athlete of the Month honor from the NJCAA in a week where Ryosuke scored six goals and two assist.

Tiger coach Chris Fuchsen stated, "What makes him special is his outstanding work ethic, I think that leads to his outstanding technical ability. His level of experience allows him to naturally find ways to score. We are looking for him to continue to provide us with goals in the next few weeks as our competition will get tougher the rest of the way."

Ryosuke and the rest of the Tiger soccer team will be in action on Friday when they travel to Dakota County Technical College to take on the Wood Ducks at 6:00 PM. The #13 Tigers are currently 8-1 and 4-1 in the conference. The Tigers will host conference foe Indian Hills Community College on Wednesday, October 11 at 4:00. The match up will have a major impact on how the Tigers finish in the conference with a new schedule that only allows each conference team to play once.
