#9 Tigers Fall to #12 Iowa Western

The #9 Tiger men's soccer team traveled to Council Bluffs on Sunday to take on the #12 Reivers of Iowa Western Community College. Entering the contest, the Tigers were 11-1 and 7-1 in the conference with their only conference loss coming from Iowa Lakes Community College. After defeating Indian Hills at home two weeks ago, the Tigers held the top spot in the conference. The #12 Reivers entered the contest 6-1 and third in the conference, with their conference loss coming from Indian Hills Community College in an overtime battle. In a hard fought contest, the Reivers would come out on top 1-0 from a goal by Matt Woo Ling.

"It was a tought game and we were unfortunate to give up an early goal" stated Coach Chris Fuchsen. "Once Western scored, they sat back a bit more and defended well. We lacked the creativity to break down a disciplined defensive team."

After falling to Iowa Western, the Tigers move to third place in the ICCAC. Indian Hills Community College currently holds the top spot with Iowa Western moving into the number two spot, Marshalltown Community College and Iowa Central Community College round out the top four sports in the conference. The Tigers will be back in action Saturday, October 28 for the first round on the Region tournament.
