Kino Ryosuke Named 2nd Team All-American

The MCC athletic department is pleased to announce that Kino Ryosuke has been named a NJCAA 2nd Team All-American and voted a 2nd Team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches.  Ryosuke finished his career with an MCC record 41 goals with 23 coming in his sophomore season. Ryosuke's ability to be in the right spot at the right time was on display all season long, as he would score seven game winning goals and score multiple goals in seven different games.

"The whole team is extremely happy and proud of Kino's accomplishments," stated Head Coach Rafael Martinez. "He has been a difference maker since the day he first put on an MCC jersey. Not only for his goals and assists or his work defensively, but also because of the example of hard work and determination he shows to everyone on a daily basis. It is hard to find a player that puts more work and preparation on a consistent basis. At the same time, we can't forget that these individual recognitions are always linked to team success, so every member of our roster deserves credit. We will miss Kino next year but we take pride in the fact that he is academically and athletically ready to move on and make an impact at the next level. We know he will represent MCC very well."

As a freshman, Ryosuke showed his ability to be a playmaker starting at forward for the Tigers and finishing with 18 goals and 9 assists on the year. In his sophomore campaign, he would end with 23 goals and 5 assists.  Ryosuke will be missed next season as he plans to play soccer at the NCAA Division II level, he is fielding multiple offers but has not selected a school yet.
