Former Tigers Earn PDL Post-Season Awards

Marshalltown, IA – On Thursday, August 2, former Marshalltown Community College (MCC) All-American, Kino Ryosuke, was named the Premier Development League's Most Valuable Player while playing for the Des Moines Menece and former Tiger goalkeeper, Rafael Pereira, earned All-Eastern Conference Honorable Mention while playing for the Western Mass Pioneers.

Like he did for two years in Marshalltown, Ryosuke led the Menace in scoring, racking up 17 goals in their amazing 13-0-1 season. Ryosuke added three assists on the year, which gave him a one-point lead over SC United Bantams' Merek Weber who finished with 18 goals and no assists, narrowly earning the league's MVP.

While at MCC, Ryosuke led the Tigers in scoring both years, compiling 41 goals in his career. After being named a 2nd team All-American in 2017, the Tigers all-time leading scorer earned a scholarship to the University of Louisville.

While at MCC, Pereira was a two time NJCAA All-American, going 33-5-3 as a Tiger. One of the best goalkeepers to wear a Tiger uniform, Pereira had 20 shutouts and a 0.56 goals against average. Now playing a Rutgers University, he led the Big 10 with 97 saves and ranked eighth nationally with 5.39 saves per game a season ago.
