Ames, IA – The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference has selected Marshalltown's Rafael Vacas as the Division I Men's Soccer Field Player of the Week from September 10-16. The Tiger soccer team went 2-0 last week, defeating Southeastern Community College and Iowa Western Community College.
Vacas started the week against Southeastern with a three goal performance, scoring all three within fifteen minutes in the opening half. Riding high off the 11-0 victory, the Tigers faced their first ranked opponent of the year, defeating the Reivers of Iowa Western 2-0. In that game, Vacas was involved in both scores, finding the net in the 50th minute and recording the assist in the 52nd minute.
