The Marshalltown Community College men's soccer team hosted Iowa Central Wednesday, August 28 in their 2024 season home opener, ending the game in a 1-1 tie.
Freshman, Gustavo De Araujo, scored at the twenty-six-minute mark to put the Tigers on the board first. The tough defense from MCC kept Iowa Central scoreless until late in the game as they tied things up 1-1 in at the eighty-five-minute mark. The Tigers ran out of time to take the lead back, ending the game at 1-1.
There were plenty of yellow cards in the very physical game as MCC had three and Iowa Central with two. The Tigers will be on the road for their next game as they travel to Hawkeye Community College on Saturday, August 31, starting at 1 pm.
