Tigers to support MHS Roundhouse renovations

MCC Roundhouse Night Promotion

Tuesday night’s Marshalltown Community College men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader will directly benefit the Marshalltown High School Roundhouse renovations at the Student Activity Center. Half of all ticket sales over the course of the night will help fund the ongoing project at MHS.

The Tigers will host cross-division rival Ellsworth Community College, with the women (3-2) tipping off at 5:00 PM and the men (6-3) set to play at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for middle and high school students, and children 12 and under are free. MCC students and faculty and staff will receive free admission. Donation buckets will be available at the entrance tables.

The Bobcats’ new modernized facility will feature upgrades to its current gym, including a state-of-the-art floor, weight room, the roof, and updated entrances as well as additions to the locker rooms. The MHS “Hall of Pride” will be added to highlight the achievements of former Bobcats.

MCC Director of Athletics Dan Huntley expressed his support of the renovations to the high school. “We are excited to be a donor to the MHS Roundhouse renovation.  Coach (Brynjar) Brynjarsson has done a great job picking projects to support each year since his arrival.  We were proud to help Gigi’s Playhouse last year and felt that the MHS Roundhouse renovation project was very deserving this year.”

“This year we have teamed up with MHS to host their volleyball and basketball games at the MCC Student Activity Center and Babe Harder Gymnasium during the renovations.  It has been a great opportunity to showcase our facility to the local community as well as show our support by hosting the intra-district rivalry against Ellsworth CC on Tuesday and donating half of our ticket sales to the project.”
