Tigers continue to struggle on the road

The MCC Tiger Softball Team (1-6) continued to struggle on the road, dropping a pair of games to Volunteer State, 4-2 and 5-4.

The Tigers were led offensively by sophomore Marisa Basham (Ft. Madison, IA). Basham belted two homers, two singles, recorded two RBIs and scored four runs for the Tigers.

Sophomore pitcher Stacy Roggentein (Marengo, IA) took the loss in the first game, allowing 6 hits, struck out four and walked one batter. Freshman Taylor Vaske (Marshalltown, IA) took the pitching loss in the second game. Vaske gave up seven hits, struck out one batter and walked six.

The Tigers will remain on the road, traveling to Dyersburg, Tennessee to take on Dyersburg State Tuesday. First pitch against the Lady Eagles will be at 1 pm.
