Marshalltown Community College Director of Athletics Dan Huntley has announced the resignation of the Tigers' head softball coach Jeff Lamb, effective July 25.
Lamb will take over as the head softball coach at Clarke University in Dubuque, IA. The Crusaders are part of the Midwest Collegiate Conference, a member of the NAIA.
Lamb helped lead the Tigers to 116 wins in his five seasons at MCC. The team reached the regional playoffs each of the last three seasons and broke over 30 team and individual records during his tenure.
The team placed 15 players on all-region squads over the last two seasons, including six in 2013. The Tigers were named a NJCAA All-Academic team in 2013 after posting a 3.36 GPA. 12 players were named to the academic all-region squad this past season.
A national search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
