Biehl earns third ICCAC Offensive Player of the Week award

Freshman Lexie Biehl (Maquoketa, IA/Maquoketa) of the Marshalltown Community College softball team raised her league-leading batting average to .521 last week and has been rewarded with the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Player of the Week. The honor is Biehl's third of the year.

Biehl continued to dominate offensively for the Tigers as the freshman helped guide MCC to a 6-0 record last week and have now won 10 consecutive games. The shortstop leads the conference in hits, doubles, average, and on-base percentage.

Biehl opened up the week with a bang, belting a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth to give MCC a 7-6 victory over Southwestern Community College. Biehl picked up three hits in the game and drove in four runs. The freshman went 5-6 with four runs, five RBI and two home runs in a doubleheader conference sweep over North Iowa Area Community College.

For the week, Biehl was 11-21 at the plate with 10 runs scored, 10 RBI, and seven extra base hits.

The Tigers host a critical conference doubleheader with No. 4 Kirkwood Community College at 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM tomorrow afternoon.
