Marshalltown Community College softball head coach Tyrone Robinson has stepped down after one year at the helm of the Tiger program. Robinson has accepted a head softball coaching position at NCAA Division I Coppin State University.
Robinson led the Tigers to a program-record 33 wins and an appearance in the Region XI semifinals in 2014. The softball team was also named a NJCAA Academic Team of the Year after posting a team grade point average of 3.29.
"I'd like to thank Tyrone for his time as a Tiger," said MCC Director of Athletics Dan Huntley. "Ty helped develop the program both athletically and academically. I wish him luck in reaching his goal as a successful Division I head coach."
