Sarah Wilson, a two-year standout for the Marshalltown Community College softball team signed her National Letter of Intent to play for Friends University, a NAIA institution and member of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) located in Wichita, Kansas.

Wilson noted the well-balanced atmosphere that Friends offers. "I chose to attend Friends University for their great academics and successful softball team. When I first came to visit, the University just felt right. The coaches do what's best for their athletes."

Wilson shined as a sophomore in 2014, playing an integral role that led to the Tigers' program-record 33 wins. A versatile player, Wilson went 16-8 in the circle, appearing in 32 games, including 19 complete games. Wilson led the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) and ranked fourth nationally with 206 strikeouts.

Wilson was a First-Team All-Region selection in 2014. Wilson was also a two-time Second-Team Academic All-Region selection.

"I'm thankful for my time I had at Marshalltown," Wilson stated. "With all the support from coach Robinson, teammates, and professors, I was able to have two great years playing softball and starting my education. They gave me the confidence to believe in myself and to follow my dreams. My teammates were more than friends I played softball with, they are and always will be like a family to me."

The Falcons posted a 35-16 record in 2014, including an 11-7 mark in the KCAC. The Falcons are coached by Tony Segovia.

"I'm thankful for coach Segovia," Wilson added, "for giving me the opportunity to continue my softball career."
