Tigers tripped up on the road at Southeastern

West Burlington, IA—The Marshalltown Community College softball team lost two Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) games on the road to Southeastern Community College on Friday afternoon, falling 8-0 in game one and 9-0 in game two.

Sarah Ghee (Carlisle, IA/Carlisle) recorded the lone hit in game one for the Tigers, a first inning single. MCC put just two base runners on base in game two.

Cass Vasquez (Los Angeles, CA/Oscar De La Hoya) limited the Blackhawks to just one run through the first two innings of the opening game before Southeastern scored five in the third and two in the fourth to pull away from the Tigers.

Lauren Wolfe (Miles City, MT/Custer County) got the start in game two. The Blackhawks did their damage early, scoring six runs in the second inning, leading to the Tigers' second loss of the day.

Sunday's scheduled home doubleheader against Southeast Community College has been cancelled. The Tigers travel to Ellsworth Community College for a doubleheader at 2:00 PM on Monday before concluding the regular season at Iowa Lakes Community College on Tuesday.
