NJCAA Division I All-Region XI Teams

Sophomore Kortlan Ollinger (Robins, IA/Linn Mar) of the Marshalltown Community College softball team has been named to the NJCAA Division I All-Region XI First-Team as an outfielder. Ollinger led the Tigers in nearly every offensive category on the year.

Ollinger took her game to the next level towards the end of the season after producing an already impressive stat line throughout the beginning of the year. The sophomore finished the year 12-19 at the plate over the team's final six games, connecting on three home runs, three doubles, and scoring nine runs. Ollinger did not record a strikeout at the plate over the team's final 10 games.

The hot stretch to conclude the season upped Ollinger's numbers that carried MCC throughout the 2015 season. The sophomore started all 47 games for the Tigers, primarily in centerfield, leading MCC in batting average (.365), on base percentage (.433), and slugging percentage (.667), which ranked fourth in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC).

Ollinger also topped MCC in hits (46), RBI (28), runs scored (31), at bats (126), doubles (11), home runs (seven), and extra base hits (21). Ollinger's .961 fielding percentage also led the team after making just four errors in 103 total chances.

Ollinger becomes the first Tiger softball player to earn Division I All-Region XI honors after MCC made the switch from NJCAA Division II status.

Ollinger transferred to MCC this season after playing for Lake Land College as a freshman, appearing in all 65 games for the team.
