The Marshalltown Community College Softball team has added two players for the 2016 season, rounding out the 15-player roster for the upcoming campaign. The Tigers have added pitcher Paige Taylor and catcher Taylor Anderson.

Anderson, a native of San Antonio, TX, recently played for the Marion Military Institute Tigers, a junior college located in Marion, AL, during the 2014 season. As a freshman, Anderson appeared in all 50 games, posting a .338 batting average along with a .456 slugging percentage. Anderson ranked second on the team with 24 RBI and eight stolen bases.

(Paige) Taylor comes to MCC from British Columbia after graduating from Terry Fox Secondary school in 2015. Taylor has a lengthy list of accomplishments, including a spot on the 2013 British Columbia Team of the Year. Taylor was also a member of the Frasier Valley Fusion and finished second at the Canadian Nationals with the Delta Heat.

"Both players give us plenty of depth to our roster now," stated MCC head coach Garland Shirley. Taylor (Anderson) had a very solid season at Marion before suffering an injury. Adding another strong bat is always a plus for the program and we're glad to have her."

"Paige brings an experienced pitching background to MCC. We're fortunate to have been able to bring in one more quality pitcher for the season to provide that depth to our staff that is needed to compete at the college level."
