Ariana Ulibarri inks with Tiger softball for 2017-18 season

The Marshalltown Community College softball team has inked Ariana Ulibarri to a National Letter of Intent to join the Tigers for the 2017-18 season. Ulibarri is a Sacramento, CA native and attends Sheldon High School.

"Ariana is a pitcher who will step in to help fill the shoes left by Paige Taylor and Jordan Carter next season," MCC head coach Garland Shirley stated following Ulibarri's signing. "I followed her after having the chance to work with her during the clinic portion of a softball tournament in Nevada several months ago. Ariana works extremely hard and is very effective in the circle. She is always poised and focused."

The daughter of Arlene and Richard Bailey, Ulibarri is a standout right-handed pitcher for USA Elite Softball and head coach Brian Cherry. She has played for the USA Elite 18 Gold travel team, Absolute Power 18U, and Team California 18U. Ulibarri also appeared in the ASA 16U National Tournament in 2015.

Ulibarri joins Anika Matsumoto to sign with the Tigers for the 2017-18 season.
