2017 Marshalltown Community College Softball Schedule

The Marshalltown Community College softball team has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2017 season.

MCC is coming off of a 29-24 season in 2016, the program's second-most wins in school history. The Tigers made a run through the Region XI Tournament where the team finished third.

The 2017 campaign opens up on Feb. 24 as the Tigers head to the Early Bird Tournament in Rochester, MN for three games. MCC will take on Milwaukee Area Technical College, Simpson JV, and Kishwaukee College.

March 10 marks the opening game in Clermont, FL where the Tigers will play 10 games in an eight-day stretch in the Sunshine State, the team's second-straight year making the southern trip. The Florida schedule will be announced at a later date. The Tigers went 9-4 in Clermont last season.

The first in-game contests for the Tigers takes place at Ellsworth Community College on March 21. MCC makes its home debut on March 23 for a doubleheader. The Tigers close out the month of March with doubleheaders on Graceland JV on March 27 and MCC-Maple Woods on March 28.

Following a home doubleheader with Ellsworth on April 3, the Tigers travel to Iowa Western Community College for the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) opener on April 5. Home conference doubleheaders feature Southeastern Community College on April 8, Indian Hills Community College on April 9, and Iowa Western on April 23.

The regular season closes out at Iowa Lakes Community College on April 25.

This year's Region XI Tournament will take place April 28-30 at Council Bluffs, IA hosted by Iowa Western. The NJCAA District J Tournament will be hosted by the Region XI winner and will be played against the Region XVI winner on May 6. This year's NJCAA World Series will be held in St. George, UT beginning May 17.
