The Marshalltown Community College softball team has signed Chasity Jordan to a National Letter of Intent for next season. A native of New Augusta, MS, Jordan will graduate from Perry Central High School this spring.

"Chasity is an outfielder who should compliment our current and incoming outfield recruits extremely well," stated MCC head coach Garland Shirley. "She displays exceptional speed and plays her position with a great deal of presence and awareness."

Jordan has central Iowa ties through her current high school coach, Savannah Scarborough who played at AIB while Shirley was on the coaching staff for the Eagles. "I have kept in contact with several former players who coach at different places around the country," Shirley added, "and coach Scarborough contacted me extremely excited about Chasity. She understands what it means to be coachable in spite of talent. That can be a rare quality in today's athletics and we want to bring players in who have the talent to contribute and know what it means to put the program first. We are excited to have her."

"I'm very excited to get started at MCC," Jordan stated following her signing. "It's a long way from home but I feel very comfortable about it after visiting the campus in December. I'm excited to play for the coaching staff at MCC."

The Tigers have now signed four players for the 2017-18 recruiting class:
