Clermont, FL—The Marshalltown Community College softball team dropped a pair of games on Wednesday afternoon, falling 11-3 to Madison College and 10-1 to St. Ambrose JV.

The Tigers (6-4) held a 3-1 lead over Madison in the opening game, but the Wolfpack scored 10 runs over the final four innings to beat MCC for the second time in two days. St. Ambrose used a pair of five-run innings late in game two to hand MCC its third-straight loss after winning six in a row.

MCC outhit Madison 13-12 in the opener as five players collected two hits each. Olivia Hubert (Waterloo, IA/Waterloo East) went 2-3 with an RBI and Josie Carpenter (Wapello, IA/Wapello) added two hits and a run. Tess Cheetham (Oceanside, CA/Oceanside) drove in a pair of runs as well for the Tigers.

Freshman Shaena Robinson (Gardnerville, NV/Douglas) went 2-2 at the plate in game two and drove in the team's only run of the game. Robinson finished the day 4-6 and is batting a team-high .629 on the year.

The Tigers currently rank 11th in the nation in team batting average with a .399 clip.

MCC wraps up its Florida trip with a pair of games on Thursday, set to begin at 10:00 AM against Iowa Lakes Community College.
