Clermont, FL- Freshman Shaena Robinson (Gardnerville, NV) connected on two home runs on Thursday and the Marshalltown Community College softball team split a pair of games on its final day in Florida. The Tigers defeated Iowa Lakes Community College 4-3 but fell to Mott Community College 4-2.

Robinson, the team's leading hitter, delivered on two home runs in the opening game and drove in two runs to lift the Tigers to a victory over in-state opponent Iowa Lakes 4-3. MCC led 2-0 against Mott before giving up four runs in the final four innings to lose the game.

Robinson connected on three hits in game one, including a pair of home runs to lead the Tigers to victory, Sophomore Tess Cheetham (Oceanside, CA/Oceanside) delivered a home run and Paige Taylor (Coquitlam, British Columbia/ Terry Fox) tossed a complete game in the circle for the win.

Sophomore Courtney Fudge (Pleasant Hill, IA/Des Moines East) drove in a pair of runs for the Tigers in game two but MCC fell short to Mott in the final game of the Florida road trip.

MCC returns to action against Ellsworth Community College on April 21 in Iowa Falls, IA.
