Sophomore Courtney Fudge (Pleasant Hill, IA/Des Moines East) played a big role down the final stretch of the regular season for the Marshalltown Community College softball team and has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Division I Player of the Week for her solid performance at the plate last week.

Fudge boasted a .714 batting average in a pair of wins at Ellsworth Community on Wednesday. Fudge helped MCC finish the season on a four-game winning streak that gave the Tigers 52 wins over the past two seasons, a program record. Fudge has appeared in all 95 games for the Tigers the past two seasons.

Fudge went 3-3 in the game one 15-7 win over the Panthers last week, scoring three runs and driving in two more while stealing a pair of bases. In game two, the Tigers defeated Ellsworth 10-1 as Fudge picked up two more hits for her 32nd career multi-hit game.

This is Fudge's second-career ICCAC Player of the Week award after earning the honor once as a freshman.

Fudge and the Tigers fell short in the NJCAA Division I Region XI Tournament, dropping the team's first two games of postseason play to finish the year with a 23-19 record, the team's second-straight winning season.
