Sophomore Jordan Carter (Sigourney, IA/Sigourney) of the Marshalltown Community College softball team has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Division I Softball Pitcher of the Week after closing out the regular season with a victory over Ellsworth Community College.

In the team's final game of the regular season, Carter tossed a gem in the circle. The sophomore went 6.0 innings, allowing just one unearned run. The southpaw also struck out four batters and did not issue a walk.

The win, Carter's ninth of the year, helped the Tigers break a program-record for most wins in a two-year span. The Tigers captured its 52nd win since the start of the 2016 season making it the most successful two-year run in program history.

This is Carter's second-career ICCAC weekly pitching honor, having won the award as a freshman. A member of the MCC volleyball team, Carter has also earned ICCAC Player of the Week honors twice over the past two seasons on the court.

The Tigers captured the final two ICCAC Division I Pitcher of the Week awards after fellow sophomore Paige Taylor (Coquitlam, British Columbia/Terry Fox) earned the honor last week following her no-hitter of Iowa Western Community College.

Carter and the MCC softball team concluded its season Tuesday afternoon, falling in the Region XI Tournament.
