  • Academic All-Americans

    Marshalltown, IA - The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has announced its Academic All-Americans with twenty-two Marshalltown Community College (MCC) student athletes making the cut. To receive a Third Team All-American honor student-athletes needed to earn a 3.6-3.79, to earn a Second Team nod students-athletes needed a 3.8-3.99, and to earn First Team All-American honors student athletes needed to earn a 4.0.
  • Shaena Robinson Signs with the University of Northern Colorado
    June 25, 2018
    Marshalltown Community College’s Shaena Robinson has decided to continue her education and athletic career at the University of Northern Colorado. Robinson has been a dominant player for the Tigers the last two years, earning 1st Team All-Region honors both seasons, and earned ICCAC Offensive Player of the Year along with a 2nd-Team All-American nod by the NJCAA as a freshman.
  • Tiger Softball Signs Mackenzie Johnson
    June 25, 2018
    The Marshalltown Community College softball program signed a 2018-19 recruit over the weekend in Newton High School’s Mackenzie Johnson. While at Newton High School Johnson participated in volleyball and softball where she earned four varsity letters as the Cardinals 2nd baseman. The two-sport athlete was also involved with Newton High School FFA, earning gold in the state’s ETA competition.
  • 2018 Spring Academic All-Region Honorees

    The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) released the conference’s Academic All-Region honorees last week. Marshalltown Community College had 31 student athletes making the list, with 24 First Team selections and 7 Second Team selections. Academic All-Region honors are based off the student athletes GPA for the designated term, Second Team All-Region student athletes earned GPAs between 3.0 - 3.49 while First Team All-Region student athletes earned GPAs between 3.5 - 4.0. MCC has four athletic teams eligible for the Spring 2018 Academic All-Region honors with men’s basketball (10), women’s basketball (4), baseball (11), and softball (6). Below are MCC’s 2018 Academic All-Region honorees.
  • Robinson Earns NFCA 1st Team All Region Midwest Honors

    The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced 102 student-athletes representing 41 programs received 2018 NFCA NJCAA DI All-Region accolades. These awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association’s three regions with first- and second-team recognitions. NFCA member coaches from each region voted on the teams, and all honorees are now eligible for the 2018 NFCA NJCAA Division I All-American squads. Among those selected for the NFCA 1st Team All-Region Midwest was Marshalltown Community College’s Shaena Robinson.
  • Tigers Earn Three All-Region Selections

    The Marshalltown Community College softball season has now came to an end after the Region XI Division I Softball Tournament concluded on Sunday, April 29. After falling to Indian Hills Community College and Iowa Western Community College in the tournament, the Tigers finished the season with a 15-24 record and fourth in ICCAC Division I Softball. The Tigers were able to capture three spots on the All-Region teams this season, with freshmen Chasity Jordan and Saydee Terrell on the 2nd Team and sophomore Shaena Robinson earning a 1st Team nod as well as Defensive Player of the Year.
  • Shaena Robinson Receives Female Athlete of the Year

    The Marshalltown Community College Athletic Department announced its Female Athlete of the Year at the Student Senate Honors & Recognition Reception on Wednesday, April 25. MCC Athletic Director, Kathleen Brown, honored sophomore Shaena Robinson as the Female Athlete of the Year.
  • Season Ends in Ottumwa
    April 27, 2018
    The Marshalltown Community College softball team traveled to Ottumwa, Iowa Friday morning to play in the Region XI Division I Softball Tournament with hopes of advancing to the National Tournament. The Tigers held a 15-22 overall record and finished 2-10 in the ICCAC to hold the #4 seed, pairing them with the #1 seed Warriors of Indian Hills Community College. The Warriors swept the Tigers in conference play this season and the trend continued as the Warriors defeated the Tigers 10-3 in the first round.
  • Game Two Thriller in Estherville

    The MCC softball team traveled to Estherville, Iowa Tuesday afternoon to take on the Lakers of Iowa Lakes Community College. The Tigers entered the contest 14-21 and looking to add a few wins before heading to Ottumwa for the Region XI Division I Softball Tournament. They would split with the Lakers, falling in game one before closely taking game two.

    The MCC softball team was back in Marshalltown on Saturday, hosting Southeastern Community College in an ICCAC doubleheader.

    The Tiger softball team traveled to Ottumwa, Iowa on Saturday afternoon to take on the Warriors of Indian Hills Community College in an ICCAC doubleheader.

    The MCC softball team hit the road on Thursday, traveling to Council Bluffs, Iowa to take on the Reivers of Iowa Western Community College.

    The MCC softball team completed their second day on the road, traveling to Norfolk, Nebraska to take on the Hawks of Northeast Community College.

    The Marshalltown Community College softball team traveled to Crete, Nebraska on Monday afternoon to take on the Junior Varsity squad of Doane University. The Tigers split with Doane University, dropping game one 7-6 then winning 5-0 in game two.

    The MCC softball team hit the field on Friday afternoon in Marshalltown, hosting the Warriors of Indian Hills Community College. The Tigers struggled all day long in the cold and wind, falling to the Warriors in both games.

    The MCC softball team traveled to Clermont, Florida to play eleven games in THE Spring Games softball tournament over spring break. The Tigers finished 6-5 on the week while experimenting with different lineups in their first games on the season.

    The MCC softball team entered day two of the Spring Games 1-1 after falling to Madison College and defeating Cuyahoga Community College on Monday. The team split their two games on Tuesday morning, defeating Illinois Valley Community College 9-5 before falling to Heartland Community College 11-3.
